Festival of Sharing

What is Festival of Sharing?

The Festival of Sharing is a cooperative response to world hunger, poverty, and injustice. These concerns motivate our actions to raise awareness of the causes and generate solutions. Our goal is to promote and support projects and programs by providing funding and resource goods. When people of faith come together and share, we can make a positive and powerful difference in the lives of people in need. Festival of Sharing is governed by an ecumenical team of volunteers from around Missouri who support the planning, promotion and vision of Festival of Sharing.

Festival of Sharing is not possible without the help of churches throughout Missouri. In 2021, Festival of Sharing hosted seven regional events that included limited contact drop-off sites throughout September-October. These interfaith gatherings of resources connect the state of Missouri with a common goal: providing resources for our neighbors in need. Join us in 2022 to experience the joy of sharing!

Sharing Around Missouri:

Over 150 agencies in Missouri are approved to receive goods and services through the Festival of Sharing. These agencies have gone through an application process helping the coordinating committee learn about their clientele, services, criteria for assistance and more. Once approved, an agency is welcome to receive goods and services for as many years as needed. Agencies range from food pantries and clothes closets to foster and adoption programs, community gardens and resource centers. The staff, volunteers and advocates work diligently to maintain resources for healthy, successful lives.

Our faith calls us to love one another and through that we will show the love of Jesus to the world. One opportunity we act with love is by sharing resources and support with our partner agencies. They continuously express how grateful they are for donations, volunteers and prayers which help make their work possible.

"By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." John 13:35, NIV
