"Christ caring for people through people"

Stephen Ministries is now a vital part of the congregational life at Cameron United Methodist Chruch. Stephen Ministries is a ministry in which lay persons are trained and supervised to provide confidential one-on-one Christ centered care to individuals who are going through difficult times such as: losing independence, feeling alone, aging, spiritual crisis, loss of employment, death, divorce, grieving, nursing home placement. And so many more.

For more information on Stephen Minitries or if you wish to volunteer to be a Stephen Minister go to the link on this page or contact the church office at 816-632-3461.

Meaning of the Care Givers Compass

The Greek letters in the center, ChiRho is a symbol of Christ. Christ is the center of a Stephen Minister's life and ministry. The characteristics of the caregiver are:

Compassionate
Full of Faith
Skilled & Trustworthy

What is the meaning of the Stephen Ministry logo?

On the left, behind the cross, there is a "broken" person. This symbolizes that all are broken people -- by sins, imperfections and painful life experiences. In front of the cross on the right is the "whole" person, who signifies that only through the cross of Jesus can we begin to know healing and wholeness.
